7/30/10 JC has decided to cancel his appearance at the Magic Castle next week 2-7 AUG due to a setback in his health.  His oncologist is going to treat the lesions on his liver separately with an inpatient procedure as soon as JC is strong enough to take the treatment.

5/28/10 J C's most recent MRI revealed some growth in two small lesions on his liver where the colon had pressed against when the cancer was first discovered.  His oncologist is looking for a means to deal with those while J C maintains his normal course of Chemo.

3/19/10 The latest MRI results show the cancerous cells around the tumors location to be contained & not spreading so far.  He's continuing his current course of Chemo.

3/17/10 J C is now waiting the results of the most recent MRI for an evaluation of his Chemotherapy effectiveness to date.  He will be appearing this weekend at Magic-CON in San Diego.  He is also going to be on the cover of & featured in the April Genii Magazine & has confirmed he will be reappearing at the Magic Castle 2-8 AUG for the Early Closeup Shows.

2/24/10 JC will be returning to performing Saturdays at the Little Club in Coronado 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM starting March 6th.

2/21/10 JC had a wonderful time performing at the Magic Castle this past weekend.  Many of his long lost friends showed up to wish him well & he was overwhelmed by the response from his fans & fellow magicians; especially the special presentation from the Castle itself.  He wants to thank everyone at the Magic Castle for the hospitality & affection he felt throughout his performances.

2/1710 JC has completed his 3rd chemotherapy treatment & is feeling fine.  He's resting up in anticipation of his two upcoming nights at the Magic Castle this Friday & Saturday, 19-20 Feb 2010.

2/9/10  JC is doing well after his 2nd chemotherapy treatment.   He is really looking forward to seeing his fellow magicians & good friends next weekend while performing at the Magic Castle 19-20 FEB.  Be there folks, he's promising a few new surprises that he's been working on during his treatments.

2/2/10 JC underwent his 2nd chemotherapy session yesterday & is resting up at home in anticipation of his 19-20 Feb appearance in the WC Fields Bar of the Magic Castle.  So far so good as they say.

1/19/10 JC underwent a surgical procedure to implant a Chemo port today & then took his 1st course of chemotherapy   He is in very good spirits, eating & responding well.  We have set up a Donations link above to let those who wish to contribute to his continuing fight against cancer.

1/10/10  JC's Wildcard Benefit was a huge success & many old friends & family were on hand for a great afternoon of magic on McP's Paddy-O.   10K was raised for his cancer fight & we will be providing a web link for further donations via JC's Paypal account in the near future.  JC sends his warmest thanks to all those magicians & friends that made this day a very special & memorable moment for him.  Here are just some of the pictures from last Sunday

He will commence his 1st course of chemotherapy the week after the benefit.

12/24/09 JC will now be appearing Saturday's at the Little Club 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM until he starts chemo in January.

12/17/09 JC will be returning to the Little Club to perform this coming Saturday 19 DEC 09 from 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM.  Drop on in & say hi!

12/15/09 JC's friends are organizing a fundraiser for him on Sunday, January 10th 2-5 PM at Mc Ps Irish Pub in Coronado. The proceeds from this event will be used to help defray the cost of his chemo & other medical expenses.  There will multiple magicians there besides JC to entertain the guests.  Check back later as the details are finalized.

12/14/09  JC learned from his Oncologist that he has Stage 4 (incurable) cancer.  He took the news in stride & will still take a course of Chemo as he has friends here that have survived for 3 + years in his condition.  He will be going back to tend bar/perform at the Little Club as soon as possible.  Check here for further updates.  He still intends to perform at the Magic Castle, 19-20 FEB 10 as his oncologist has promised to allow for his treatment to least impede any public appearances.

12/11/09 JC Spent the day with friends (Luis, Howard & Noel) who came down from the Magic Castle to visit.  They were joined by two of JC's Magic Lounge cohorts Terry Lunceford & John Kovarovic.  JC also learned that he is scheduled to appear at the Castle in the W.C. Fields bar 19-20 February 2010.  On the health front, he continues to progress & will see an oncologist this coming Monday to learn about his course of Chemo treatment.

11/26/09 JC spent a quiet Thanksgiving at home, but did venture out to the Little Club (where he normally works) for dinner with his many friends there. His recovery is continuing & his appetirte is definitely back which will help him prepare for his chemotherapy starting in the near future.  He sends his most heart felt thanks & best wishes to all those who have emailed him or left a message in his guestbook.  He is overwhelmed by your outpouring of support for him.

11/24/09 JC is home now & fully enjoying the comforts of it!   He is ready to see visitors, but needs a little heads up before they arrive.   To those who have offered to bring food for JC & his girlfriend Sandy, please call him so they can let you know about his dietary constraints. His address is posted above for those wishing to send cards.  He is also back up on his laptop & answering emails.

11/23/09 JC continues to progress well & will be released this afternoon after a final consultation with his doctor.  The course of chemotherapy is still as yet undetermined.  Once he is back home, he would love to have visitors & we'll post that address here when they are ready to go.

11/20/09 JC's pathology report indicated some residual cancer cells in the area surrounding the tumorous area.  This will require a course of chemotherapy to be determined in the next few days.  He took it in stride.  He is currently resting, receiving visitors & exercising his system to get ready for his discharge now estimated at Monday 11/23  Those wishing to visit him can come on over.
